We haven't. Not Yet.
A group of well-meaning local activists feel they can present a better educational program
through an environmental curriculum. They approached the Ball State Office for Charter
Schools and applied for a Charter School.
The
sponsorship of the charter was delayed by Dr. Jo Ann Gora, the President of Ball
State University, to give time for more community input.
You have not heard much about this because it was pushed through with
minimal discussion. By the time most
people were aware of it, the debate was over. The time was extended by Dr. Gora because she felt the Charter
group had not presented its case to the community sufficiently.
Next- Why would Chesterton need a Charter
School?
